About Brilliant Kids

Brilliant Kids (formerly the Hertfordshire Youth Music Theatre) was set up to give youngsters all over the county and beyond an opportunity to perform in full-scale musicals with a professional production team.

While you can never underestimate the importance of good drama, dance and singing training, there is nothing like putting that altogether and learning on the job. Brilliant Kids are given the chance to experience a company in action. With a short rehearsal period, expectations are high and the pace is fast. Our first production was the sell out Fame! at the James Theatre, Watford in September 2002. Members of the Brilliant Kids went on to perform in the acclaimed Snoopy – The Musical! and as part of the Showstoppers – The Movies choir at the Alban Arena in October 2004 in front of audiences numbering over 2000.

Many of our Brilliant Kids have gone on to perform with the NYMT, YMT:UK and in the West End and on tour (see the News page for details!)
